- RichardAugust 15, 2025I’ll be honest. when I first watched Treasure Planet, I was blown away. And to this day, I still don’t understand why it wasn’t a massive hit. It’s one of those rare animated films that feels like it was made with genuine heart, ambition, and artistry. The animation is jaw-dropping. Disney blended traditional 2D animation with cutting edge 3D techniques, and the result is a world that feels both nostalgic and futuristic. The spaceports, the solar-sailing ships, the alien landscapes it’s all so imaginative and beautifully rendered. It’s honestly one of the most gorgeous Disney films ever. Treasure Planet is a hidden gem. It’s adventurous, emotional, visually stunning, and packed with memorable characters. If you’ve never seen it, or haven’t watched it in years, give it another shot. It’s one of Disney’s most underrated masterpieces.
- CubaneAugust 1, 2025I was expecting an underwhelming post-renaisssance Disney sigh with this movie. But I found the humor to be more adult-oriented and well-timed than expected. There are many tropes that are an all too familiar signature of this being a Rat™ movie, but the fantastic animation and characters kept my attention through to the end. The redemption arc at the end was a nice touch. Worth a watch!
