Top Secret! Ratings & Reviews
- CravanThePugilistJanuary 7, 2026Maybe it's like... a 3.7... or 3.8... idk, but it felt wrong seeing less than 4 stars there. So many clever ideas & laugh out loud moments.
- bonorawiggNovember 1, 2025Funny stupid. Very Mel Brooks type of movie
- Richard1d agoI first saw Top Secret! on TV or maybe on one of those old VHS rentals, the kind of movie you put on without expecting much and end up laughing harder than you planned. It’s Zucker‑Abrahams‑Zucker at their most unrestrained, throwing spy‑movie clichés, Elvis‑style musical numbers and Cold War nonsense into one big chaotic mix. It’s the sort of comedy that sticks with you because of how unexpected it is. A cow in boots, a backwards room, an underwater bar fight, all the things you remember years later without even trying. Top Secret! is silly, inventive and proudly over the top and it still feels like one of those movies you stumble across and end up watching all the way through.
- Rowan KrzysiakJuly 16, 2025It's patchy and loose but there's genuinely funny moments that just about avoid being distasteful.....just about.
- andrewJune 27, 2025my confusions of eastern germany were abundant, but after watching this film i feel myself now enlightened to the true state of affairs within eastern germany in the mid 80s. what shocked me most was not how surreal reality was, but how its bureaucracy remained static while its western counterpart evolved through turbulence.
- sveiMay 26, 2025While not quite the timeless classic that Airplane is, its still inventive and stupid in equal measures in an enjoyable way. The east has never been as thoroughly misrepresented.
- Mister ArnMay 24, 2025Lots of in-your-face slapstick comedy with Val Kilmer making his film debut.
