It has enough fantasy charm and entertainment value to make for a decent watch, but it never quite finds the magic or weight needed to rise above being a fairly average sequel. The performances do enough to keep things afloat. The cast brings presence and commitment, and there is enough charisma on screen to make the film watchable even when the material feels familiar or a little shallow. Visually, this is where the film works best. The production design is rich, the costumes and settings are often genuinely beautiful, and the overall fantasy atmosphere is appealing. The soundtrack also helps give the film a sense of scale and grandeur that elevates several scenes. The script, however, feels far less inspired. The pacing is steady enough, but the story never fully grabs hold, and much of it feels predictable and emotionally distant. It moves along without dragging too much, yet rarely creates a sense of real momentum or wonder. That lack of emotional weight is what ultimately holds it back. For a fantasy film built around spectacle and mythology, it often feels surprisingly safe and lacking in true magic. Still, it remains an easy and mildly enjoyable watch. The visuals and cast make it entertaining enough while it lasts, even if it never becomes the kind of fantasy adventure that truly stays with you.
