Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace Ratings & Reviews
- parktool69December 1, 2024cool music
- PhineasJuly 13, 2025Probably one of the least rewatchable of the Star Wars movies, but the pod racing sequence and the last 40 minutes still make it worth coming back to every now and then.
- mickerdooJuly 12, 2025If I hadn't grown up watching this I probably wouldn't dig it. Too much out of place slapstick. Otherwise effects and cast are okay.
- jwalkinFebruary 24, 2025"Miss Portman please stop looking at the slave boy with those lustful eyes"
- Jagger JohnsonJuly 3, 2025Still waiting for my Ben Quadinaros spin-off series.
- wf625June 30, 2025I like this movie it has cool music and an amazing villain
- KennyBarrozJune 13, 2025The lightsaber duel with Darth Maul is a clear highlight, and Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor bring strong performances as Jedi. However, the film stumbles with slow political plotlines and clunky dialogue. Jar Jar Binks’ comic relief doesn’t land for many, and young Anakin’s role feels underdeveloped. Despite flaws, it sets the stage for the saga’s deeper story and delivers memorable moments. Bold and beautiful, but uneven in execution.
- cursedbagsJune 11, 2025Carried By Jar Jar.
- nessa.baudelaireMarch 24, 2025impossible to say for certain whether or not this is good star wars
- DdoughnutMay 23, 2025Most of the characters were great, and the entire time we were in Anakin's planet were great. I really enjoyed being on that planet. Speaking of, the young voice actor for Anakin was great. Some of the acting was pretty bad though and I did find some scenes pretty boring. Still, decent movie.
- Mister ArnMay 22, 2025The action scenes are great fun to watch, but the story and characters are weak. Jar Jar is annoying and not the comedy relief he is supposed to be providing.
- gerty.winMay 11, 2025Now this is pod racing!!
- Edward SchofieldMay 10, 2025Duel of the fates is PEAK.
- PapaHamzehApril 2, 2025It's going to be impossible for me to give this a non-biased rating. I was a child, I was there for the phenomenon, and the hype has been formative even into adult life. I often whistle Duel of the Fates at whim, for no other reason than my fancy. Looking back, sure there are glaring issues, Jar Jar not withstanding. We see for the first time George not really being adept in any way with political intrigue. We see that he also maybe needed to go the Brandon Sanderson School of World Building, if for no other reason than what not to do (staying too long in Brandon's school results in its own poor outcomes and 1mm word novels). But look at what we do get! Darth Maul, while second to Vader still, is absolutely one of the best villains in Universe and maybe in movie canon. Even Disney couldn't keep their grubby hands off him once they acquired Lucasfilms. We got a top ten movie banger song in Duel of the Fates. And we got what is, with some doubt im sure, one of the best movie fights of all time. Qui-Gon is still a legendary character even with only being in 1 film.
- Bishop DMay 10, 2025Dope stuff, Darth Jar Jar is real.
