Star Wars Ratings & Reviews
- PhineasJuly 13, 2025It's starting to show its age in the big 2025, but this is still one of the most groundbreaking and iconic movies of all time.
- mickerdooJuly 12, 2025Legendary start to an epic franchise. Each unique character adds another layer. Thankful they were so daring in production.
- Jagger JohnsonJuly 3, 2025Not enough Jar Jar.
- Kevin WardJuly 1, 2025Easily one of my most watched films of all time. I absolutely wore out multiple VHS copies of this as a kid. But my niece and nephew, while familiar with Star Wars lore thanks to some books, games, toys, etc, they’d never actually seen the movies. (They’re kind of scaredy cats when it comes to anything even remotely intense. They don’t even own a TV, so they don’t really watch much of anything except when they come to our house or my parents house.) True story: We joke a lot that my nephew literally couldn’t finish Cars 2 because it was too “scary.” But they had been asking to watch Star Wars, so we all sat down together during Thanksgiving this afternoon and we all watched this. Still kind of takes my breath away at times. Such a briskly paced sci-fi adventure. I just adore the way the script is written and how the characters talk. They reference events, gadgets, people and places without ever explaining to the audience, which helps the universe to feel truly lived in. And I’m not sure there has been a dialogueless character who’s as well written as R2-D2. Sheer brilliance. I really wish Lucasfilm would get their sh🤩 together and release a f🤩king movie at some point.
- GhettoZorro78March 16, 2025Masterpiece! I will get a Star Wars tattoo now.
- JoelMay 14, 2025Andor is kinda hilarious cause it makes you realize how absolutely cooked the rebels were if Luke didn’t join them 💀
- wf625June 30, 2025I love this movie it’s a Classic
- M ProwMarch 25, 2025It's the most legendary movie ever made and that says it all. The movie divided space operas before and after.
- nessa.baudelaireApril 7, 2025this is star wars, right? the bauplan, the morphological blueprint for the next 50 years? Or is star wars contained inside the decades of messy expansions that would now crawl out from this primordial tale?
- Hipster ZOMBIEFebruary 25, 2025“A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…” That singular log line launched the imaginations of millions and a billion dollar franchise. The movie delivers everything: thrilling dogfights in space, heroic rescues, dramatic sword duels lightsaber duels and one of the most explosive finales in cinematic history. And let’s not forget John Williams’ legendary score. The Force theme. The Trench run. And of course Binary Suns which is one of the most beautifully conducted musical scenes in cinematic history. Star Wars took a simple formula with a narrative constructed off of cherry picked ideas from other stories and gave fans an amazing sci-fi fantasy that continues to inspire future generations.
- COCOMay 5, 2025I wish I could've experienced this in theaters.
- plexkerMay 29, 2025The originals. Nothing else too say.
- kellb6June 18, 2025I finally watched the whole thing. It took me 35 years. great movie to nap to.
- TheDesertLadJune 17, 2025The best way to view this film is trying to watch a version CLOSE to the theatrical release. The changes made in any of the Special Editions (most notably seeing Jabba in this film rather than waiting to see him in Return of the Jedi) sadly diminish it. You benefit WAY more seeing the rougher cut that audience members in May 1977 would've seen to really capture the awe this movie truly was and how it became a pop culture classic. The story "is basic" as it is a typical heroes journey, but Lucas and crew masterfully manage to combine mythos, raw creativity, symbolic imagery, and one hell of a score to bring you - I dare say - the definitive way of experiencing the heroes journey above any film.
- Skye HaynesJune 5, 2025Very entertaining, and very goofy. Fun to watch
