Pretty cool when you think about it. Makes for great Sunday driving and the scenic route about things, you know that slow Sunday and that lazy Saturday

I love the new ones. Made me go back & watch the original series... which I liked much less. Idk I know this is a classic, but it just felt so slow & uneventful. Absolutely classic ending - what I wouldn't give to somehow not have that completely spoiled by the world for myself & every other person so that it's not a surprise to absolutely anybody... the sequels were pretty nuts. I remember the second one kinda being okay, the absolute nuts retcon at the start of the third made me laugh hysterically, & I think I got up to the 5th one, which starts with a tribe of the talking apes riding around on horses that I just kinda noped out of finishing it.

'Planet of the Apes' (1968) stands out as a masterpiece in science fiction, not just for its fast-paced narrative and memorable scenes but also for its unique and thought-provoking concept that has cemented its status as a classic.

    A true classic!

A well executed, interesting concept. But to turn that idea into a courtroom drama and extended scenic shots felt a little wasteful.

Some movies just stick with you your whole life. I was probably about 10 when I first saw Planet of the Apes and my mind was blown within the first few minutes just thinking about the fact that the crew had been away from Earth time for around 2000 years. When Taylor looks at the ships clock and sees the year 3970 I was hooked. I come back to this film again and again. For me it and absolute masterpiece. "Get your hands off me you filthy Ape"

I’m sure this movie would have been pretty cool in 1968, the crash landing scene is pretty radical, but it seems so stupid now, the characters and plot are completely deranged

    pretty solid movie about Apes

It's a smart, creative sci-fi classic, with a Twilight Zoney climax written by Rod Serling himself.
