One Shot Ratings & Reviews

This is a low key masterpiece.....I don't know how more people aren't hip to this movie....it has everything you want in a scenerio/one location action film.....the casting is solid....the action is crazy.....the acting is above decent....and its not even like it has the best actors involved.....the cinematography was superb for this type of film....storyline/script was decent......I just wish it could have been a longer movie....more everything.......This film will have to yelling at the screen...routing for you favorite team.member and in your feelings at every turn.....Grab your food and all BEFORE you sit for this one...it gets crazy fast...

The One Take camera technique is new enough in mainstream cinema to make One Shot interesting to action fanatics, but only those who want a relentless shower of violence will be entertained by the onslaught.
Orca Sound
Carey-Ann Pawsey
If straight to video still existed then James Nunns One Shot would certainly be one.
The Spool
Justin Harrison
One Shot is Elgadi and Adkins' movie-even amidst a rock-solid ensemble, they stand out.
Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews
Dennis Schwartz
This violent film has relentless wall-to-wall action scenes and plays out as a well-crafted siege movie.
Eye for Film
Jennie Kermode
Whilst the set-up may in many ways resemble a video game, with long sequences staged around twisty corridors and an improbable number of outbuildings, the tension is real.
Elements of Madness
Douglas Davidson
Considering Nunn devised the film as a non-stop single-take experience, one might expect constant action and nary an ounce of depth, yet his One Shot ends up being emotionally charged, stylistically executed, and full of surprises at every turn.
Cinapse
Ed Travis
Those interested in the sheer filmmaking magic of executing on the exhausting challenges of the single take format will find much to laud here. And that's where it personally connected for me.
Common Sense Media
Jeffrey M. Anderson
Presented in what appears to be a single long take, this action movie is expertly and impressively choreographed; too bad the same attention wasn't given to the dull story or flat characters.
The Playlist
Brian Farvour
"One Shot" is merely an experiment in filmmaking chutzpah and a failed one at that.
IndieWire
Mark Peikert
Lacking the polish of other entries such as Birdman and 1917, One Shot feels like a first-person shooter video game with the camera reversed for once.
Variety
Dennis Harvey
Director James Nunn's reunion with star Scott Adkins... may not transcend their usual B-grade, adrenaline-fueled macho fare, but does bring some welcome novelty to the genre.
In Review Online
Daniel Gorman
Like the best DTV movies, there's a blunt clear-sightedness on display that is leaps beyond the more refined niceties that make mainstream action stuff more palatable.
Blu-ray.com
Brian Orndorf
Does just fine with pure aggression and a somewhat chilling study of obedience, and Nunn works to crank up the endeavor's kill count with help from star Scott Adkins.
The Last Thing I See
Brent McKnight
Everyone with a penchant for tactical action needs to give this a watch posthaste.
Midwest Film Journal
Nick Rogers
It's true that Scott Adkins is among the most persuasive poster children for today's best action living in the VOD space. For all its technical competence and moderate entertainment, "One Shot" simply is not one of his more cardiac or maniac efforts.
