- Supa_GremlinJanuary 31, 2025It appears that the truth of the situation is the opposite of everything I've been told by the news. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhocking.
- Kevin WardJuly 1, 2025Unflinching look at the plight of the families living under occupation along the West Bank in Palestine. Impossible not to be moved by the families watching their homes be reduced to rubble. Really glad I rearranged my schedule to fit this film in. An urgent watch. Sadly, I the gentleman in the seat next to me did not feel that same urgency as I had to shake him on three separate occasions to get him to stop fucking snoring. But he made absolute sure that he was the first person to stand up and start clapping when the film concluded. Just fucking go home dude.
- SpoonsMarch 7, 2025Some films inform. Some films shake you to the core. No Other Land does both. A documentary born out of urgency, it thrusts the audience into the relentless struggle of Palestinians living under occupation, not through distant statistics but through raw, immediate, and deeply human moments. Directed by Basel Adra, Hamdan Ballal, Yuval Abraham, and Rachel Szor, this is no detached observation—it’s an on-the-ground, life-risking testament to survival. Over four years, the filmmakers document the systematic destruction of Palestinian homes in Masafer Yatta, the forced displacement of families, and the sheer weight of living under military rule. The film doesn’t just depict oppression; it makes you feel it, scene after scene. At its heart is the friendship between Palestinian activist Basel Adra and Israeli journalist Yuval Abraham—two men standing on opposite sides of an apartheid wall, both physically and legally. Their bond underscores the film’s most harrowing truth: one man’s mere existence is a crime, while the other moves freely. It’s a brutal juxtaposition, one that highlights the unequal reality of Israeli civil law and Palestinian military rule. The courage to film under genuine threat to life is staggering. Every moment feels electric with risk—this is real, unfolding before the camera with no safety net. The visuals aren’t polished or cinematic; they don’t need to be. Their urgency is what makes them devastating. No Other Land is not an easy watch, nor should it be. It’s a necessary, fearless act of defiance, shining a light on stories too often buried. And for those willing to look, it’s impossible to forget.

- James SaenzApril 15, 2025absolutely gut wrenching. it’s infuriating and it’s inhumane, what the world has allowed israel to do for decades upon decades. there are moments of fellowship and happiness for basal and his community, but they are always ruined by the pervading violence of the israeli forces and settlers. every moment with a soldier on screen is harrowing, because we already know what they’re capable of and more than willing to commit. they tell the villagers that the demolitions, the disenfranchisement of their people, are dictated by the law and to take it up with the law, but how is that possible when the governing power isn’t even theirs? it’s not even unbiased. these palestinians have lived in an apartheid state for so long, ruled by unjust laws created to oppress them. there is no justice here, just brave defiance in the face of bullies. and if any jewish person dissents from the zionist propaganda or agenda, they’re dubbed traitors; god forbid they find compassion and empathy for the people their government treats as subhuman. i’m sick and tired of nothing changing. this is such a crime against humanity. free palestine.
