Very powerful storytelling and you instantly get sucked in. within 10-15 mins you know how the rest of the movie is gonna go, it's a slave movie. It's not pretty, it's downright sickening and repulsive. And maybe that's what the French did right, no american jokeiness to lighten the mood and sell it to the audience. No brushing over the facts. JUST BRUTAL TRUTH. The only other review I have read on this platform just said “I cried”. Well i will out do you my friend, i balled and was not ashamed! Watch with a loved one and hold on for dear life.
