Mufasa: The Lion King Ratings & Reviews
- Hipster ZOMBIEJanuary 26, 2025This film is a case of “well the first one made money so let’s make a sequel.” Even though fans of the cartoon disliked the live action version, Disney still decided to push forward with a prequel no one asked for with “Mufasa.” The animals still show no expression and yes it still feels like you are watching a National Geographic special. Just more boring.
- Marshall Moore7d agoAfter seeing this movie I now understand a lot of the original It reveals a lot Was a very good movie
- Philip CollinsMarch 13, 2025This was surprisingly good, I normally can't watch animated movies but this one held my attention and grandkids liked it too
- Lucas MagretaJuly 17, 2025a prequal that is better than the animated and live action movie as it was really good. and IDK how it thought it could be better than sonic 3. because they released on the same day
- PlexMarch 16, 2025Great animation, predictable plot, funny characters and nice songs. You’ll have a good time watching it.
- assassin007July 9, 2025Great film for all the family. A worthy prequel
- Andrew CloutJuly 4, 2025Brilliant. Wasn’t expecting anything to come close to the animated Lion King but this was shockingly good!
- Haider aliFebruary 26, 2025Nice Is very cute and emotionally
- Hope EmmanuelApril 29, 2025The soundtracks are so good.
- BearJuly 3, 2025Really enjoyed this.
- SkittlesxApril 14, 2025The new Lion King movie brings a fresh, deeper take on the classic. We get to see Mufasa’s roots and even a different side of Scar before he became the villain we know. Rafiki’s backstory adds some really cool layers too. What really stood out was how Mufasa becomes king—it’s not what you'd expect, and that moment hits different without giving too much away. And the bad lions from before his time? They add a whole new depth to the Pride Lands' history that makes the world feel bigger and more real.
- Kevin WardJuly 1, 2025Wait, Pride Rock had a grotto back in the day? As a film, this simultaneously impressed me and frustrated me. I hated the story framing device that was obviously only there to keep Timon and Pumba involved. But I also kind of get it because it doesn’t really feel like a Lion King film without them and they do provide some of the funnier moments in the film. The animation is still incredibly impressive and the animals do appear much more expressive this time around. It doesn’t really come together cohesively. The music was solid. The framing device really gives it the feel of those old straight to DVD Disney sequels we used to get. Overall, this is fine I suppose. Just not really something I needed or anything I’m really ever interested in watching again.
- Gary SevyJune 30, 2025After such great soundtracks of the 90's, the music in this movie is truly disappointing.
- jcwkJune 26, 2025GOOD MOVIE!
- DaveJune 9, 2025A solid movie with decent character development. I enjoyed it and will watch it again but wouldn't put this anywhere near the best of Disney's work. I liked seeing how Mufasa's family came together but otherwise felt like the story was lacking something.
