The core problem in Germany in the Adenauer era seems to be the alienation between the married couple, where the husband earns the money and the lady of the house has to deal with raising children and cooking at home. The husband is a busy man who takes his job very seriously. But his wife feels neglected and questions her marriage and her idea of love!
