- M08YJuly 17, 2025A fairly standard feel good family film about the triumph of good over evil. It's also about Owls I suppose. I first saw this film when I was 11 and it's visuals were enough to make an impact all the way into my 20s. Pros: - Overall well paced - Excellent voice acting - Looks AMAZING on the 1080p Bluray (Would really benefit from a 4K + HDR) Cons: - First 15 minutes feels a bit rushed - The big bad owl is almost completley unexplored - The "super weapon" is mostly useless and only added for intruige's sake - Reeks of "Made for 3d". Yes I get it, the owl comes off the screen. In conclusion, a surprisingly upbeat and easy going family movie from Zack Snyder with beautiful visuals and enough heart to keep you entertained for it's lean 90 minute runtime.
- Alexander SierputowskiJuly 14, 2025Gorgeous scenes, and amazing CGI. This movie was unfortunately masked by Avatar success but that by no means it should be over looked. Highly recommend and some great scenes. Reminds me of Lord of the Rings if your into that genera.
- lavlavsJuly 13, 2025This looks incredible even 15 years later. Realistic owls that you can actually tell apart and see emotion in unlike a certain few Disney movies recently. The story of the original books is cut down a bit much and made not quite as dark, but it's still a serviceable story. Definitely check out for the visuals, there are a lot of great shots in this.
