Pretty good movie but it has a some of my critiques with the 6th movie, in that it is a bit slow at some points and not enough action. But it’s still worth watching and it is very heartbreaking.

If the plot was any more compressed you'd need to watch it in WinRar. Whilst I appreciate that the book is massive, I feel like there must have been a better way to convey the story here. For your consideration, I present: The Wedding - 4m Ministry of Magic Heist - 18m Godricks Hollow - 7.5m As you can see, some very important scenes are gone in the blink of an eye. I will however say that the film does a good job at not FEELING rushed while you are watching it, it's only once you finish the film you realise that the plot went past at about 300mph. So much of the charm and detail of the book is gone that it's hard to feel like it's the same story at times. The audio and visuals were very strong here, at no point did I feel like any shortcuts were taken on this front. I think the 4K really is an upgrade over the 1080p this time around, for the detail if not the colour.

One of the best Harry Potter movies. It has the emotion with major character deaths. It expands the wizarding world beyond Hogwarts and ties all the plot points together. The twists and turns are always a great part of this franchise. Easily a 10/10 for me.

I just watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, and I give it 5 out of 5 stars. This one feels like a huge shift. It takes the story out of Hogwarts and throws the characters into the real world with real consequences. It is darker, slower, and way more personal. You can feel that this is the beginning of the end, and that pressure is in every single scene. I loved how different it felt, and how much heart it still managed to keep. From the start, this movie makes it clear that nothing is the same anymore. The trio is completely on their own now. No teachers, no safety net, and no real plan. They are trying to piece together a mission that feels impossible, and the weight of everything they have lost and everything they still have to do is heavy. You feel it every time they stop, argue, or just look at each other in silence. Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson are incredible in this one. Their performances are more emotional than ever. You see them struggle not just with what they are up against, but with each other. The friendship between Harry, Ron, and Hermione is tested in ways it has never been before. The quiet moments where they just sit and think are just as powerful as the action scenes. That is what makes it feel so real. The pacing is slower, and that might throw some people off, but it worked for me. It gives the characters time to breathe, and it gives the story more depth. You are not being rushed from scene to scene. Instead, you are living with these characters while they search, hide, and try to make sense of the world falling apart around them. That time spent with them makes the emotional moments hit even harder. Visually, the movie is stunning. The landscapes they travel through are beautiful but feel cold and lonely at the same time. It matches the tone perfectly. The cinematography uses shadows and light in really smart ways, and you can feel the isolation and fear in how scenes are framed. The score is also incredible. It is quieter, more somber, and totally matches the mood. Some tracks just sit with you after the scene ends. There are still some intense action scenes, and when they hit, they really hit. The tension in those moments is high because now everything feels more real. The characters are vulnerable. They are not protected by school walls or powerful adults. They are just kids who have grown up way too fast, and that makes the stakes feel so much higher. One thing that really stood out is how much this movie is about survival. It is not about flashy spells or big speeches. It is about staying together, staying hopeful, and continuing the fight even when it would be easier to give up. That message comes through clearly, and it made me even more invested in what was coming next. I give Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 5 out of 5 stars because it is quiet, powerful, and full of emotion. It might be the calm before the storm, but it is still one of the most important and meaningful parts of the story. Overall Deathly Hallows: Part 1 is a bold and thoughtful chapter that trades speed for soul. It shows the cost of the journey and how much the characters have grown. I loved every moment of it.

Ugh. RIP Hedwig. There was a constant sense of dread that wasn’t even felt in part two. Perfect setup for the battle against the baddy himself.

The trio’s bond is tested by isolation and fear. Scares land without cheap tricks. A patient build toward war’s end.
