Elvira's Haunted Hills Ratings & Reviews
- RichyE1d agoSet in 1851 Romania, Elvira and her maid Zou Zou are en route to Paris for a can-can revue when they end up at a haunted castle owned by the eccentric Lord Vladimere Hellsubus. The castle holds dark secrets, supernatural occurrences, and a suspicious resemblance between Elvira and the lord’s deceased wife. Cue melodrama, murder, and a whole lot of innuendo. 🧟♀️ Style & Homage A loving spoof of Roger Corman/Vincent Price/Edgar Allan Poe gothic horror films. Features elaborate sets, dramatic lighting, and over-the-top performances. Includes a song-and-dance number, slapstick gags, and classic horror tropes turned on their head. ⚖️ Final Verdict Elvira’s Haunted Hills is a cheeky, gothic spoof that leans hard into camp and melodrama. While not as sharp or iconic as Mistress of the Dark, it’s a loving tribute to classic horror and a showcase for Cassandra Peterson’s timeless charisma. Fans of Elvira and vintage horror will find plenty to enjoy.
- Matthias_812April 4, 2025Fun sequel spoofing the Corman/Price/Poe classics with a slapstick approach. Haunted Hills is pretty different from Mistress in the Dark. As a massive fan of the first I didn't expect to top it but this is different type of fun experience altogether. Elaborate awesome sets and Elvira is looking magnificent. It's Elvira, you can't go into Elvira and be disappointed. Haunted Hills has some good laughs.
