- Blake SingletonApril 12, 2026This era of the MCU feels so cohesive and planned out. Seeing this with the gift of hindsight, it’s hard not to see Proto-Infinity War or Endgame. Clearly they were trying to see how well they could juggle a huge ensemble cast. And none of these characters seem forced or out of place. In Thor: Ragnarok I felt like Dr. Strange was shoved in there for 10 minutes to be like, “See! He’s still here! He’s still doin’ stuff!” Overall, a great movie. I felt like the pacing was pretty good, even if the motivations for certain actions weren’t super clear at times. Knowing this is based off the comic helps some, but it should be able to stand on its own without that knowledge. I give a “Great end to the original Cap Trilogy out of 5.”
- HakihikoMarch 6, 2026A Battle of Ideals "Captain America: Civil War" manages to turn a superhero clash into something more meaningful than just spectacle. While the action and scale are certainly there, the real strength of the movie lies in the ideological conflict at the center of the story. The division between the Avengers feels believable and grounded in the characters' values and past experiences. Both sides of the argument have weight, which makes the conflict engaging rather than purely dramatic. The film also does a great job balancing a large ensemble, giving most characters moments to shine without losing focus on the core narrative. The action sequences are extremely solid, especially the airport battle, which blends humor, tension, and impressive choreography. At the same time, the movie doesn't forget the emotional side of the story, leading to a final confrontation that feels personal and impactful. If there is a minor flaw, it's that with so many characters involved, some inevitably receive less development than others. Still, the film remains tight, entertaining, and emotionally effective. Overall, a strong chapter in the MCU that successfully blends spectacle with character-driven conflict.
- tellumNovember 13, 2025This is in the top tier of MCU movies. Maybe the best action sequences of the entire franchise, a story that is way deeper than it gets credit for, introducing Black Panther in the best way possible, reintroducing another hero I won’t spoil, and developing 2 of the main Avengers in a big way. A Home Run.
