Aliens Ratings & Reviews
- Richard ThorntonJuly 22, 2025Holds up fairly well. About as far as you can take special effects in the pre cgi era of movie making.
- Lorenzo MiguelJuly 21, 2025The best all time cifi movie, it's s must.
- PatrikStarMay 16, 2025The 20 minutes added in the director's cut make this film perfect.
- The Gutter MonkeyFebruary 23, 2025Whether it's better than the original is a matter of taste. But there's no denying it's a classic with some of the most iconic lines of the entire franchise.
- John ShadelJune 18, 2025Great movie.
- DerekMay 30, 2025Hands down the best sci-fi action film in my library. Alien is a high tension horror film, while Aliens is a high adrenaline action ride. I love it from beginning to end. Amazing cast, story, sound effects, practical effects. Cinematography like this needs to be studied for educational purposes - Hollywood of today needs to take notes on what makes this timeless in the sci-fi horror genre.
- VooKaApril 14, 2025Cameron took a close to perfect movie and made is even better. This movie is up there with some of the best movies of the 80s.
- Aaron SladeMarch 8, 2025Aliens is probably the most popular film from the franchise, and it is good - However I strongly prefer the first film (Alien) to this one. Alien was more a slow and tension filled horrow film with a relentless killer stalking the helpless crew. Aliens is much more an action packed popcorn movie. It's really good.. just not as good as Alien.
- .LAGMay 16, 2025The perfect sequel.
- NonPlayableContentMay 13, 2025One of the few times I'll say the directors cut is necessary, yes it's longer but the context makes the difference. Mommy symbolism + military hate + young amazing actors = good time.
- HaHaHarvey44May 8, 2025Aliens is what happens when a director with talent takes the wheel from a director with talent and decides to melt your face off with sci-fi action glory. James Cameron ditches the slow-burn vibes of Alien and turns the sequel into a full-blown war zone, loaded with pulse rifles, acid blood, and enough tension to snap Bishop in half. Sigourney Weaver absolutely owns it as Ripley, evolving from survivor to flamethrower-wielding space mum in one of the best action performances ever. The marines? Walking clichés, and I loved every one of them. The practical effects still hold up better than most CGI garbage today, and the pacing is so tight it could choke a Xenomorph. It’s loud, it’s intense, and it’s smarter than it has any right to be. One of the few sequels that doesn’t just match the original, it body-slams it into a core reactor overload. It’s one of the greatest sequels of all time. And every time I watch it, I’m reminded what real filmmaking looks like, before everything got buried under a mountain of franchise fatigue, cinematic universes, and the burning desire to suck the soul out of every IP.
- RyezooFebruary 15, 2025My first time ever watching and I got to say I prefer Alien more. I think it loses some of its luster with there being so many aliens and seeing them so frequently when the chaos starts. I understand that this is an action movie versus a horror movie, I just prefer the latter. With all that said I still found this an exciting film. The cast was great and enjoyed watching Ripley take on the aliens again. Maybe another watch make me appreciate this film more.
- XXBlackMothXXMay 8, 2025Wow! This film still blows me away. It is a wild ride of action, horror and suspense jacked up a million times more than the first. Amazing!
- AjayApril 30, 2025While ditching the true horror for thrilling action instead, Aliens is a good film but doesn't carry the absolutely chilling feel that Scott's original did. And while I like Cameron, this ends up feeling a lot like Terminator with Xenomorphs.
- Kyle BianchiApril 27, 2025"They mostly come out at night. Mostly." Aliens is an absolutely bombastic follow-up to 1979's Alien, and man... *chef's kiss* It's absolutely packed with a sense of self that I love. It doesn't have the desolate horror atmosphere of its predecessor, but it has iD Software-esque corridors, dim and moody lighting, and lots and lots of action. The initial battle between the Marines and xenomorphs is top-notch, and Ripley's infamous line to the Queen near the end my favorite stand-out highlights. Absolutely incredible movie.
