- sti533d agoI guess I was expecting more from this one, but I must admit, watching it today in 2026 it felt way more outdated than Alien from 1979. Where as the first movie was much more tense, and this sequel was more of a popcorn movie with guns blazing (most of it very unengaging and dull) and endless amount of one liners (many of them good, by all means).

Alien was more a slow and tension filled horrow film with a relentless killer stalking the helpless crew. Aliens is much more an action packed popcorn movie. It's really good.. just not as good as Alien.

Amazing cast, story, sound effects, practical effects. Cinematography like this needs to be studied for educational purposes - Hollywood of today needs to take notes on what makes this timeless in the sci-fi horror genre.

Everyone in the cast is at their best, but special praise must go to Sigourney Weaver, whose fierce Ripley is definitely someone you would want beside you in a crysis situation. With endless quotes and memes, this a movie that was forever etched in popular culture. Many flics have attempted to reach its heights, but so far nothing has come close. Unmissable for any cinema fan.

It’s louder, faster, angrier — and absolutely spectacular. Cameron takes everything that worked in Alien, cranks it to eleven, and then injects a hefty dose of The Terminator. The pacing is immaculate, the action relentless, and the escalation masterful. Once it gets going, it barely lets you breathe. This is a thrill-a-second experience done right, with tension that never feels cheap and action that always feels earned. Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley fully comes into her own here.
