Aliens is probably the most popular film from the franchise, and it is good - However I strongly prefer the first film (Alien) to this one.
Alien was more a slow and tension filled horrow film with a relentless killer stalking the helpless crew.
Aliens is much more an action packed popcorn movie.
It's really good.. just not as good as Alien.
