Wednesday Addams kommt nicht so recht mit ihrem Leben klar. Sie hat übernatürliche Fähigkeiten entwickelt und kann zum Beispiel hellsehen. Doch sie muss sich in der neuen kuriosen Nevermore Academy zurechtfinden, aber hat Probleme Anschluss bei ihren Mitschülern zu finden aufgrund ihrer Eigenart. Als die Stadt plötzlich von einer Mordserie erschüttert wird, muss Wednesday versuchen, das 25 Jahre alte übernatürliche Geheimnis aufzudecken, in das ihre ganze Familie verstrickt ist.

- jackmeat12. Oktober 2025My quick rating - 8.4/10. This one entirely exceeded any expectations I had going in. Everything about this season hits the mark, which is rare to say. The casting for the Addams from top to bottom is flawless. There are countless nods to the original series to appease the older fans, while the casting of Christina Ricci as a main character is sheer genius and an easter egg for the die-hard fans of anything related to The Addams Family overall. We are presented with a great mix of dark humor and a quaint little mystery to solve when Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) is sent away to a boarding school after playing a delightfully evil prank. I won't go into breaking down episodes or anything, but suffice it to say her character is so morbid and honest, it is rather amusing. Played so well to give you goosebumps at how conniving she is at times, and you just watch waiting for that moment she breaks character and actually cares about anyone else but herself. That is part of the brilliance in how she is written and acted. Just deadpan to the point and is unwavering by others' attempts to make her any different than she is. The mystery is fun, and the school of misfits is a great backdrop that allows the supernatural to come into play, which adds to the enjoyment. The effects when used are a visual treat as well. The color balance is nice and vivid, which is used properly to contrast everything around Wednesday always being so dark. Everything about this just screams out Tim Burton as only he can, with his matching sense of humor and ability to make dark material look so cool. It isn't often I finish a series and am immediately awaiting the next, but this is one of those times. Easily for any fan of entertainment without a real flaw to point out. Just a solid outing that I hope continues, since there is plenty more for Wednesday to explore and for us to enjoy riding along while she does it.
