Wednesday Rezensionen & Wertungen
- flavo436. Dezember 2025Wednesday is a sharp, stylish series that brilliantly blends horror, dramedy, and mystery into a crime procedural with a gothic twist. Centered on Wednesday Addams, the show thrives on wit, charm, and biting dialogue, making every episode both entertaining and clever. The writing is phenomenal, weaving together layered plots that expand the world of Nevermore Academy while connecting each season into a larger, cohesive narrative. The school itself is a fascinating setting, rich with secrets and supernatural intrigue, offering endless storytelling potential. Jenna Ortega’s performance as Wednesday is pitch-perfect, capturing her deadpan humor and fierce independence, while the supporting cast delivers equally strong portrayals that elevate the ensemble. With top-shelf performances, striking visuals, and a tone that balances dark comedy with heartfelt moments, Wednesday proves itself as one of the most engaging modern genre series. It’s inventive, addictive, and a worthy continuation of the Addams legacy.
- BenjaminOriginals3. Dezember 2025This show is an absolute banger! It delivers what the Addams Family movies can't. I really love the way they depict the cinematics to give the eerie vibe even in non-eerie areas. I also found it quite remarkable how they preserved the personalities of the characters from the movie series. For anyone who is a fan of the Addams Family, I surely suggest watching this show.
- ርልዪረ29. Januar 2025👧🏻🕸 I suppose it's inevitable that if you really enjoyed Harry Potter then anything set in a boarding school is going to have you drawing parallels. I found that watching 'Wicked' but with 'Wednesday' there are more than just a few. But what the heck I appreciate them both so double the fun and Wednesday does have more than enough of her own personality and charisma to rise above any comparison. Looking coldly at the series as a whole, it's typical big budget television series fare. Nothing extraordinary in it's production and more than enough cliches. But when you add in the Adams Family and the personality of Wednesday, then it becomes something special. So if you enjoyed the saga of Harry Potter, and you enjoy well made television series, and most of all you are a fan of The Adams Family and the teenage antics of Wednesday Adams then this is for you. I can't wait for season two
- Duda Caribe7. August 2025Excellent series. Fun. Everyone's acting is sensational. Wednesday, then...

- Yashika Rajput26. Juli 2025I honestly don’t even remember exactly when I started watching Wednesday — it feels like forever ago. I was an early teen back then, and the only reason I even thought of watching it was because it was everywhere on the internet. Every single one of my friends had already seen it, and I guess that made me realize how far behind I was when it came to shows and series. So, that’s where my whole journey with series actually began. At that time, I wasn’t someone who could stick to watching one thing — I had never really completed a full series before. I started with one episode, told myself I’d watch more later, and then left it, picked it up again, and repeated that cycle for a while. I honestly feel a bit ashamed that I couldn’t even finish such a short series in a week. But once I got into it, I was hooked. It was a completely different experience for me — the kind of show that opens the door to another world, where people had magical abilities and lived lives so different from ours. It was fascinating. And when it comes to characters, I’m genuinely glad I watched it because Enid truly stood out. She wasn’t just a side character — she was the comfort one. I absolutely loved her energy. She was warm, funny, and full of life. I loved her friendship with Wednesday even more than any romantic subplot like Xavier or Tyler. That bond between the two girls was the highlight of the series for me. It was so real, so raw. All in all, Wednesday was something new, something magical, and definitely worth watching.
- Kelly Jo5. September 2025Love the different twists and turns! The kids also loved it!
- Shaydeknight10. November 2025This show had a fighting chance: revive one of pop culture’s most deliciously macabre children and let her be herself. Instead, the show clumsily grafts Veronica Mars–style detective tropes, Monster High theatrics, and Riverdale melodrama onto the Addams DNA until nothing fits. The writers insist Wednesday must "grow" and learn tidy life lessons (the exact opposite of what makes the Addamses funny) so we suffer through episodic betrayals of character and a hollow "power of friendship" dynamic that feels tacked on after hours of incoherent plotting. Jenna Ortega is okay, but she’s a mediocre professional at best and she's not even remotely close to good enough to carry scenes that contradict the show’s own logic. The Addams Family only works as vignettes: comic strips, short episodic sketches, or brief tableaus in a feature-length film. They're not meant to be dissected, only glimpsed. Once you start digging into motivations or feelings, the entire premise collapses: a family of unrepentant, murderous sociopaths who adore each other is a glorious contradiction only because it isn't examined too closely. The moment you put them under a microscope, trying to explain why they're that way or what they feel, the charm dies. "Wednesday" makes that fatal mistake, it tries to psychoanalyze a joke that was never meant to survive dissection. Further, they're funny when contrasted with the normal and the mundane. So what did they do in this show? Put the titular character in a setting where she's just one of the crowd, stripping her of all uniqueness or difference. She is the paragon of conformity whereas she's meant to be the complete opposite. Tim Burton’s aesthetic is predictably lush, but here it’s style without substance, the gothic gloss of someone on autopilot. Let's face it, his brilliance is undeniable when he works on original material (Edward Scissorhands, Corpse Bride, Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Mars Attacks, Big Fish), each a singular, imaginative world fully his own. But hand him a beloved cult property and watch him implode. Suddenly his supposedly dark touch becomes ham-handed, as mere obsessive, overwrought, fanboy worship masquerading as art. He strips nuance, flattens tone, and turns what was gold into lead: Planet of the Apes, Alice in Wonderland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Dumbo, Dark Shadows, and now Wednesday are all victims of the same predictable syndrome. This is Burton at his worst: a nerdy aesthetician who can’t resist stamping his vision on something that didn’t need fixing, leaving only a pale, over-decorated echo of what once mattered. The show builds worlds only to break their rules, changes tone on a whim, and flattens its own mythology into adolescent sludge. For anyone who loves the Addams Family for their wit and sharp, self-contained absurdity, this is a glossy autopsy report on something that used to be alive. Maybe a moody teen will enjoy it, but for anyone else it’s flashy, shallow, and profoundly unnecessary. It's a show that mistakes looking dark for being clever.
- Lucas Magreta3. Juli 2025best thing I ever wacthed. perfect. I could say that 1,000 and more about this. Jenna Ortega was perfect as Wednesday. she fit perfectly. - Callum5. November 2025⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Wednesday – Monochrome Mayhem and the Art of Not Fitting In Wednesday is the rare show that manages to resurrect an old icon and make her feel utterly alive again. It’s part mystery, part dark comedy, part supernatural teen drama — all stitched together with gothic wit and impeccable style. Never truly horror, though it flirts with it, this series thrives instead on atmosphere: a world of outsiders, misfits, and monsters who are more human than the “normals” outside their gates. Jenna Ortega is Wednesday Addams. Deadpan perfection, razor-edged humour, and that stillness that turns silence into a weapon. Across from her is Emma Myers as Enid — the pastel tornado to Wednesday’s midnight calm. Together they’re an unlikely duo: opposites forced to share a room and, in doing so, discover just how much they need one another. Their friendship becomes the heart of the story, glowing defiantly against the gloom. The show balances comedy and mystery with remarkable precision. There’s murder and mayhem, sure, but it’s handled with a wink rather than a scream. The gothic visuals pop like black ink on parchment, every set piece drenched in character — from the gargoyle-lined halls of Nevermore Academy to the little quirks of Wednesday’s macabre worldview. Even when the plot wanders, the tone never falters. Watching Wednesday feels like pouring ouzo into water — the dark and the light swirling until they’re indistinguishable, chaotic, and perfectly balanced. It’s smart, stylish, and heartfelt beneath its poker-faced exterior — the perfect blend of morbidity and charm that makes you wish school had been this interesting. ☕️ Pairing: A steaming cup of black coffee with a swirl of cream — opposites dancing in the cup, just like Wednesday and Enid, finding harmony in delightful contrast.
- Hakihiko24. Oktober 2025Darkly Witty, Stylish, and Surprisingly Heartfelt "Wednesday" takes the world of the Addams Family and gives it a sharp, modern twist — one that balances gothic flair, teenage rebellion, and a delightfully twisted sense of humor. Under Tim Burton’s distinctive direction, the series thrives on atmosphere: moody yet playful, grim yet full of personality. It’s a show that manages to be both a mystery and a coming-of-age story, wrapped in black lace and sarcasm. Jenna Ortega is the undeniable heart of the series. Her performance as Wednesday Addams is pitch-perfect — deadpan, clever, and quietly magnetic. She brings nuance to a character that could have easily become a caricature, layering her trademark stoicism with subtle emotion and sharp wit. The supporting cast complements her beautifully, particularly Emma Myers as the ever-sunny Enid, whose chemistry with Ortega gives the show both warmth and levity. Visually, "Wednesday" is stunning. The production design is rich in detail, and the gothic aesthetic feels authentic without ever tipping into parody. The soundtrack — part eerie orchestration, part rebellious modern flair — enhances the tone perfectly. Burton’s fingerprints are all over it, but the series never feels weighed down by his style; instead, it feels energized by it. The mystery at the story’s core is engaging, though not without its clichés. Some plot points are predictable, and a few secondary characters could use more depth. Still, the pacing keeps the show lively, and the balance between humor, horror, and heartfelt moments is impressively maintained. In conclusion, "Wednesday" is a stylish and thoroughly enjoyable reinvention of a classic character. It blends Burton’s signature gothic charm with sharp writing, memorable performances, and just enough emotional resonance to make it more than a genre exercise. Darkly funny, smartly written, and visually rich — it’s a series that feels both familiar and refreshingly new.
- grimsfield10. Oktober 2025You just get the feeling that with better writers / executive producers behind this show, it might actually be good. There are good actors present, but the script and direction are just so cringingly bad. I blame the "Timecop" writers, Afred Gough and Miles Millar. The two are legendary hacks and I have no idea how they got their hands on this IP. They just produce stinker after stinker and manage to consistently fail upwards.
