Watson Rezensionen & Wertungen
- Callum23. Dezember 2025⭐⭐⭐⭐½ – Watson – Holmes’ shadow, House’s echo, its own sharp pulse. While the American setting might initially feel odd for such a quintessentially British character, it never detracts from the story being told. If anything, it helps underline that this isn’t Sherlock retold — it’s a continuation, a re-contextualisation, and a character study that stands on its own. It wasn’t until a few episodes in that the lineage really clicked: House → Holmes → army doctor inspiration → Watson as an ex-army doctor himself. That full-circle moment is genuinely satisfying, especially for anyone who enjoys spotting narrative DNA across genres. The nods feel intentional rather than gimmicky — even down to the casual Lupus mention, which feels like a quiet wink rather than fan service. Morris Chestnut doesn’t match the physical Watson many of us carry in our heads, but he absolutely earns the role. His performance balances intelligence, restraint, and quiet authority, reshaping Watson without betraying him. Shinwell, meanwhile, is a standout — the perfect blend of menace and loyalty. He’s the kind of character you’d want beside you when things go wrong, and never want opposite you. The medical mysteries are varied and engaging, avoiding that “case-of-the-week fatigue,” though some solutions do arrive via last-minute insight rather than fair-play deduction. Even so, the character work, internal drama, and thematic cohesion more than make up for it. This is a series that comfortably sits at the intersection of detective mystery, medical drama, and character-driven storytelling — and it earns its place there. Pairing 🍷: A smoky rye old fashioned — structured, confident, and a little unexpected. Familiar enough to be comforting, but with enough bite and depth to remind you this isn’t the version you thought you knew.
