This show has done a good job of keeping character motivations consistent, yet being able to turn unsympathetic “villains” in to more sympathetic characters as the plot moves forward. Well done. The opening theme definitely evokes some Fallout notes, and for the longest time, I thought it was Ramin Djawadi of GOT and Westworld fame. Special shout out to Atli Ovarsson

- Cornfedokie4. Juli 2026I had to change my initial 5 star rating for this show after season 1, to 3 stars after watching the first two episodes of season 3. I thought about changing it after season 2, but decided to give season 3 a chance to redeem itself. I was not surprised to see it did not. So sad, this show had such a great premise. I'm not sure there are any good writing teams left in T.V. or Movies. Edit: I wish all the soap operas that were cancelled in the early 2000's were still around. At least then, this type of crap would have a place, and writers wouldn't feel the need to include it in absolutely everything they make.

The story unfolds at just the right pace, constantly revealing enough to keep you intrigued while leaving you wanting more. Definitely worth watching.

A long-ago rebellion was crushed, history was rewritten, and a vast underground silo became humanity’s entire world. What we’re watching now is the slow, dangerous resurfacing of questions that were never really answered — only buried. The brilliance of Silo lies in its pressure. Every interaction feels constrained by class, secrecy, and fear. The rigid hierarchy between “up top” and “down below” isn’t just social — it’s mechanical, architectural, and psychological. When we learn that one of the silo’s most capable figures willingly abandoned privilege to live among the working class, the show sharpens its focus on choice versus obedience, and whether opting out of power is itself a kind of rebellion. Season one is a masterclass in sustained tension. Nothing explodes without consequence, and nothing is revealed without cost. By the time the truth starts to fracture the official narrative, you’re already complicit — you understand why people cling to lies, and why tearing them down could be catastrophic. Season two widens the lens in a bold but controlled way. Exile, once framed as a death sentence, becomes something more complicated when we discover the outside world exists exactly as promised — and yet survivable, under very specific conditions. Survival shifts from being a matter of obedience to one of ingenuity, adaptability, and sheer will. At every level, Silo respects its source material while making smart choices for television pacing. It doesn’t spoon-feed answers, and it never undercuts its own stakes with easy hope. This isn’t Shakespeare — but it’s uncomfortably close in spirit, asking the same enduring questions about power, truth, and whether humanity deserves to survive the systems it builds. I really love the idea of this show, and I do believe it's a bit of a metaphore in a sense. We're all purposely disconnected from the truth, kept in a state of fear and obedience, or else face rejection from society/authority. We're all kept in a silo in a sense, each one being taught different lies. The entire world is kept under illusions so they won't revolt. Sound familiar? Sure does to me.

Juli 2026Across its first three seasons, Silo has established itself as one of television's more distinctive science fiction dramas, pairing meticulous world-building with a mystery that constantly suggests there's another layer waiting beneath the surface. That approach can be both the show's greatest strength and its biggest obstacle. The series is at its most captivating when its revelations reshape the people living inside the silo, but far less effective when it mistakes withholding information for building suspense. Even during its slower stretches, the production design remains exceptional, creating an environment that feels convincingly lived in rather than simply constructed. Rebecca Ferguson continues to define the series as Juliette, giving the character a quiet resilience that never depends on grand speeches, while the supporting ensemble has steadily grown into one of the show's strongest assets. As someone who grew up a The Walking Dead devotee, I also enjoyed seeing Avi Nash in a substantial recurring role, bringing a welcome sense of warmth and humanity to an increasingly heavy story. The first season lays an absorbing foundation, the second expands that mythology with greater ambition, and the third pushes even further into the history of this world while proving just how difficult it is for Silo to maintain momentum across an entire season. Its ability to move between the present and the “before times” without making hundreds of years of history difficult to follow is genuinely impressive, but another heavy middle stretch shows that the series still has a tendency to stretch its mysteries and plot lines beyond their natural lifespan. Fortunately, the closing run continues to be where Silo is at its best, with the final two episodes of the third season delivering some of the show's strongest filmmaking yet. The adaptation continues to honor the spirit of Hugh Howey's novels while making thoughtful adjustments for television, and although pacing remains its most persistent weakness, Silo has now built a world compelling enough to keep drawing me back underground.

- I really liked Season 1 and S2, pretty much from the start of each. This season still has the look and feel I've liked, but E1 hasn't drawn me in fully. I'll definitely continue watching, but it's starting to feel a bit gimmicky and less organic than previous seasons. Maybe the tone switch is purposeful and will propel the narrative. Hard to tell at this early stage.
