I get that it can portray examples of how relationships are in real life, but choosing to watch the condensed toxic encounters for a movie is not my idea of a good time. Also, instead of playing the "that's not where it is" game, why don't you just fucking go grab it yourself instead of watching them, and telling them how they fail. Job well done, this movie made me mad in every exchange.

Juli 2026“we love a contentious environment.” everything about this appeals to my sensibilities, from the anxiety-inducing comedy to the immaculate blocking to the barely controlled atmosphere of sexually charged frustration to the surprisingly poignant and vulnerable climax and conclusion. being an american remake of an adaptation of a stage play, the intimate setting of the original work still translates to this film, and it feeling like a stage production only adds to its entertainment value for me. my favorite moment is when joe and angela step away briefly to hit a joint, because it’s a glimmer of the people they used to be and a relationship that no longer exists. i was the only one in my screening, but it felt like the room was alive.

- Eric Widdervor 3 TagenThought I would hate it because I'm not a Rogan or Olive Wilde fan, but both of them were really good. Edward Nortan and Penelope Cruz were remarkable as expected. This movie was crazy and definitely good enough for a rewatch down the line.

- Doc Wormvor 4 TagenFerociously tense, uncomfortable and very funny. The invite was an excellent surprise. Solid performances bring the script to life particularly from Penélope Cruz and Olivia Wilde. It’s beautifully shot for a film shot almost exclusively within the walls of one apartment. Effective blocking and perspective really helped enhance almost of all its scenes. I don’t want to spoil anything, but it really lost me in the final act just due to how drab it is. That final moment was nice though :)

Nach 15 Jahren Ehe steckt die Beziehung von Angela und Joe in der Krise. Gemeinsame Abendessen mit anderen Paaren gab es schon lange nicht mehr.
