Very reminiscent of the concepts of The Matrix, but told through an interesting lens, and it has the hallmark utopia / dystopia battle that makes so much sci-fi truly have depth
- Zokkiie24. Februar 2026I ended up enjoying this more than I thought I would. The deserted Earth setting creates a cool, slightly haunting atmosphere, and the visuals are easily the highlight. Everything looks polished and thoughtfully designed. The story moves at a steady pace, mixing mystery with bursts of action, and it’s easy to stay invested. The soundtrack adds a lot to the tone, and the film never really drags. It might not stick with you forever, but it’s a solid, entertaining sci-fi watch.
- Billy Zane28. Dezember 2025I remember thinking this was just okay when it first came out, although I didn’t see it in theaters. On a recent rewatch, I loved it. The visuals and score hold up beautifully, and the story lands with more weight once you know where it’s going. I enjoyed it a lot more this time and now rank it up there with Edge of Tomorrow. Thoughtful, atmospheric sci-fi that rewards a second look.
- Kevin Ward3. Juli 2025Pretty solid dystopian sci fi flick that mixed in tons of ideas that have been done many times before, but does so in a pretty slick package. Kosinski-Cruise combo even manages to work in some aerial dogfights sequences in a canyon, that likely informed some of the work they did in Top Gun: Maverick. Much more stacked cast than I remembered. Andrea Riseborough, Morgan Freeman, Jaime Lannister, Olga Kurylenko. Entertaining family watch and slightly better than I remember it being.

Dezember 2025This is a visually stunning movie, with gorgeous landscapes and scenery and the use of practical effects and visuals rather than go purely CGI makes it all the more impressive. The plot and premise feel pretty fresh compared to many other movies and there are some well-executed twists that occur, too. That said, it's also a bit slow at points and meanders occasionally. Still, this is a solid sci-fi action movie and deserves better than the initial reception it had.

Die Erdoberfläche ist bis zur Unkenntlichkeit zerstört und eine brutale Alienrasse, die sich noch immer in den Trümmern verschanzt, macht den Aufenthalt lebensgefährlich. Nur wenige wagen sich auf den verwüsteten Planeten, um dort wertvolle Artefakte zu sammeln und die Extraktion lebenswichtiger Ressourcen für den Abtransport auf einen der Saturn-Monde zu überwachen, der ein neues Zuhause für die verbliebene Menschheit darstellen soll. Von "Missioncontrol" entsandt, soll auch der Soldat Jack an die Erdoberfläche reisen, um dort die Verteidigungs-Drohnen zu reparieren, welche die Städte vor Alienübergriffen schützen. Dafür muss er seine Frau zurücklassen. Kaum auf der unwirtlichen Erdoberfläche angekommen, trifft er auf eine mysteriöse Astronautin in einer abgestürzten Rettungskapsel. Durch sie stößt Jack auf ein Geheimnis, dass sein gesamtes Weltbild infrage stellt.
