- Cole11. juni 2025Absolutely love how this starts as an 80s action war flick then transitions into a horrifying creature feature. The Predator is one of the all time monster designs. I especially like how we don’t see its body or face until the final act. As far as the location, the jungle is an all timer too — along with the Antarctic in The Thing and space for Alien. As an Arnold stan too, he’s just wonderfully charismatic here. Cozy film for me, a true classic in every sense of the word.

Oh man, this scared the shit out of me in 1987 when I saw it at the cinema at age 10. It was so close to a horror, while still remaining an action film. Arnie was on fire in the 80s and could do no wrong. This was the same year The Running Man came out, which is just as good as this. Amazing !!!

- macaronz13. juni 2026This has been one of my favorite films ever since I watched it as a kid, and rewatching it after all these years was an absolute blast. It holds up incredibly well. It’s crazy how modern CGI and VFX look so cheap and fake compared to a classic like this. The practical effects and real environments just hit different.

Positives: - The design and look for the Predator is both awesome and iconic - The practical effects for the kills looks great - The kills are really solid - Arnold is awesome - The characters are fun Mixed: - The premise is pretty simple and really not that intriguing but it’s still utilized in a fun way - The performances are pretty mid Negatives: - The film has no character development so tho the characters are fun you don’t actually care if they live or die - The movie is a very generic and predictable movie - You have seen this movie before - The movie is also really dumb and you will have to turn your brain off Overall Predator is a dumb, but fun movie that you shouldn’t take too seriously.

Predator is a genius premise--and manages to execute the premise with near-perfection. The perfect amalgamation between an 80's manly-man action flick and a slasher, Predator is worth you time. The score, the dialogue, the pacing, the acting--everything is running on all cylinders. Couldn't quite give it full points because some of the special effects aged poorly.

From the peak of 80s practical action to experimental crossovers and modern prequels, this franchise has tried it all. Here is my Top 3 ranking of the Predator universe. Let’s discuss where does your list differ? 1. Predator (1987) 👑 The Verdict: The undisputed masterpiece. 2. Prey (2022) 🏹 The Verdict: The ultimate revival. Dan Trachtenberg did exactly what the franchise needed he stripped away the bloated sci-fi setups and went back to a simple, brutal survival story. Moving the setting to the 1719 Comanche Nation was a stroke of genius. Amber Midthunder is incredible, and the feral, primal design of the Predator brought back the genuine fear missing since 1987. 3. Predator: Killer of Killers 🩸 Taking the franchise into animation was the best risk they ever took. Free from the limitations of live action budgets and green screens, this series unleashed pure, unadulterated Yautja lore. The fight choreography is brilliant, the world-building is deep, and it captures the brutal, comic book style energy fans have wanted for decades. It rightfully takes the bronze medal.
