Hubie Halloween has all the ingredients for a great Halloween comedy, but wastes them on nonsensical plotting, painfully unfunny jokes and Adam Sandler doing an irritating voice. My kids enjoyed it, I spent most of the film wondering how such a decent cast ended up in this rubbish.
With "Hannibal Lecktor" (Brian Cox) now safely behind bars, the traumatised profiler "Graham" (William Petersen) might be looking forward to a well earned-retirement. Thing is, the "Tooth Fairy" has other plans as he embarks on a killing spree that causes his erstwhile FBI boss "Crawford" (Dennis Farina) to seek his help. These murders are truly gruesome with entire families killed, inside their own homes, on nights with a full moon. With the next one of those due very soon, "Graham" has to enlist the help of his former tormentor - whose help is never as straightforward as he might like - to see if they can establish some patterns and preempt more slaughter. Meantime, we are introduced to "Dollarhyde" (Tom Noonan) who's about eight foot tall and maybe not the most stable of photographers we are ever going to meet. It's possible that he might succumb to the more calming influence of the lovingly blind "Reba" (Joan Allen) but with the pressures mounting you wouldn't want to bet on that. Is there a connection? As with Thomas Harris's "Red Dragon" book, the audience is aware of far more than the pursuers and that works well here as we see "Graham" try to work from a blank canvas, and with an insane convict, to track down a man who has left virtually nothing for them to go on. Petersen holds this together quite well and the cleverly cast Cox, well he always comes across as an actor who'd be quite prepared to eat the competition. I found the ending just a little rushed, but the jigsaw is well presented and the jeopardy effectively increased throughout this quite chilling adaptation. Honestly - I didn't much care for the intrusively synthesised score - just a little too much "Miami Vice" for me - but this is a solid and at times quite gripping story of imbalance and mania that I did quite enjoy.
An absolutely dreadful Australian slasher populated by unlikeable idiots with no depth and some of the worst dialogue I’ve heard in years. The practical gore and prosthetics are occasionally impressive, but they’re nowhere near enough to save this rubbish.

The itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout.
Down came the rain and washed the spider out.
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain.
Then the itsy bitsy spider went up the spout again.
Okay…put your fingers together.
Let’s do The Itsy Bitsy Spider.
The itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout.
Down came the rain and washed the spider out.
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain.
Then the itsy bitsy spider went up the spout again.
A little faster now.
The itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout.
Down came the rain and washed the spider out.
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain.
The BBC had of course produced their own 'story' of 'Only Fool's, the beloved sitcom back in 2002, but it never really felt complete what with the 2003 episode still to air, and the spin-offs that were made later.
Quite why TV channel Gold have made this newer version rather than the Beeb is surprising but I'm not complaining as this series brings together lots of the remaining cast members (and sadly we've lost a few) talking about making the iconic show and its memorable moments, with each episode having a set focus.
It's lovely to see this show being honoured in such a way, and reminds us in particular of the brilliance of writer John Sullivan.
Michael Keaton playing Bob Jones, a successful businessman and his wife Gail (Nicole Kidman) are pregnant with a child. With bob suffering from last stage of kidney cancer they're praying every day that at least he sees his child before dying. In-order to let his child know who his father was, Bob starts making video clips in which he shares all the things (life experience/knowledge/learnings) that he would have shared as a father. These small clips are so real and heartwarming that one will quickly start feeling bad for Bob. In addition to this, he also must mend his relationship with his family with whom he has lost all contact since leaving his hometown.
There is so much to do but there is so little time, So how does he says goodbye!!! To find out, watch this emotional but sweet
A wickedly funny moral minefield. Strong performances and a clever shift in who you're rooting for turn a far-fetched premise into something uncomfortably believable. A cracking little film that leaves you questioning exactly where your own moral boundaries lie.
I saw this when it first came out and really enjoyed it. I was just a little kid at the time, but I enjoyed the story and actors work. I just watched it again recently and have to admit, it's dated, the FX are horrible, BUT I still enjoyed the performances and story.
If you're not a fan of the cast and can't get past really bad "special" effects, then you'll probably hate it. But if you like any of the cast, and watch it for their performances and a kinda cheesy story, you'll probably find it entertaining.
The cast is the only reason for really watching this movie.
🏔️Well done showing real story. The characters fit the role. It kept exciting from beginning to the end and no boring scenes. They shooting could be better as the movie deserved better production. It's made us excited to know more about the mount history and what really happened there. Hope we see more of such movie.
The writing of this movie was terrible, maybe some of the worst ive seen. None of the characters motivations, their lines are annoying and the plot contrived.
With the acting i dont doubt that its some of the worst ive ever seen it. Some of the line deliveries by the main actress match that of Tommy in The Room.
Now some movies are bad but still enjoyable in that badness. This movie not as much. It still made me laugh, but i dont know if it was the movie or the fact that i was going crazy over the fact that i was actually spending time watching it.
This movie is excellent. It is hilarious and has great drama. Kadeem Hardison and Marlon are just as convincing as brothers as Marlon is with his real life brother Shawn on "The Wayans Bros." The acting was great, the comedy was great, and the writing was great. This is the film that made me look at Marlon Wayans as more than just a funny guy, but also as a very talented actor.
When Cole Younger's gang is involved in a robbery-gone-wrong in a town in the Southwest, the lone survivor, Jack Kane (Paul Hogan), acquires a mute newbie partner (Cuba Gooding Jr.). He wants to make one last big score before moving to New York with his saloon lass (Beverly D'Angelo).
"Lightning Jack" (1994) is an amusing Western starring Hogan, but it's not an all-out comedy like, say, "Blazing Saddles." Ball-park comparisons include "The War Wagon," "Sam Whiskey," "Something Big," "Cattle Annie and Little Britches," "Maverick" and "The Lone Ranger." "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" is another, but that one's a little more serious.
While not great and relatively slow-moving, the locations are excellent and the developing relationship of the antiheros is entertaining. Beverly is another highlight.
While the opening bank job is similar to the doomed 1876 real-life raid in Northfield, Minnesota, Cole Younger was only wounded and ended up in prison in which he worked on a newspaper as a printer's devil. He was paroled in 1901 and ended up writing a memoir, lecturing and touring in a wild west show with Frank James. A couple of years before his death in 1915, he became a believer and repented of his criminal past. By contrast, Cole's brother, Jim, was paroled with him in 1901, but couldn't adjust and so committed suicide fifteen months later in a hotel room in Saint Paul.
At the end of the day, if you liked the Crocodile Dundee flicks, you'll probably appreciate this.
The film runs 1 hour, 37 minutes, and was shot in Santa Fe; Tucson and Page, Arizona; Moab, Utah; and Colorado; with some interiors filmed in the studio on the Gold Coast, Australia.
I held out hope for this on the basis of the two lead actors. They were fine and the plot hinted at some depth and history that would have been interesting to explore. We were just expected to recognise they were the good guys without much evidence of such which made me uneasy and suspicious as events developed.
The support actors were very poor, in particular the damsel in distress who weirdly switched from high emotion to emotionless at a word which was jarring and inauthentic. The plot was fine and predictable.
The lack of emotion to events at the end was odd but the portrayal of some OCD hand washing spoke of a deeper trauma we never got to explore further. This would have helped us connect more with them and care what happened. It's been done better before and I was sad to see Denis Quaid reduced to this.
🐺🚇 We've probably all seen plenty of werewolf movies, but in my opinion, Howl is among the better ones. The creatures look refreshingly different while still retaining all the classic elements of a werewolf. Additionally, these werewolves have distinctive characteristics that set them apart from the traditional bloodthirsty monsters we're used to seeing in horror films.
The storyline is simple: a night train breaks down in the middle of a forest, and soon, werewolves begin attacking the passengers. There's a hint in the movie that these creatures inhabit this part of the forest and have attacked trains before. However, what makes this film particularly engaging is the group of passengers. Their dynamics, relationships, and explosive confrontations with each other drive the story forward.
The acting is solid across the board, and the werewolves look convincingly menacing. While there are some logical gaps in the story and a few frustrating decisions made by the characters, the plot moves along smoothly. The film strikes a good balance between showing some humans as helpless prey while others fight back with relentless determination.
Overall, Howl is a well-executed werewolf movie that delivers plenty of action and suspense.
Watching Ghostwatch as a 10-year-old, I genuinely didn't know if it was real. A perfect storm of familiar BBC faces, convincing effects and an audience completely unprepared for what was coming. A genuine cultural moment in British television that's never really been replicated.
Crystal Lake has a lot of potential to bring the 🔪Friday the 13th franchise back to life. I'm really interested in seeing how the series explores the history of Camp Crystal Lake and builds up the atmosphere that made the original movies so iconic. Hopefully, it focuses on genuine horror, a strong story, and memorable kills rather than relying on nostalgia alone. If they get Jason right and capture that classic Friday the 13th feeling, this could be something special for longtime fans.

Buddy is a surreal horror comedy about kids in a world ala Barney The Dinosaur, only problem is Barney is a serial killer. He targets the kids one by one and what seems jolly at first quickly becomes a nightmare.
The film has a lot of really strong moments, and the cast of young actors is terrific. The movie blessedly doesn't stay in the jolly nightmare of Buddy forever, as it also veers into the real world where we meet people who are victims of this bizarre unicorn Buddy.
Not everything in this movie is explained or makes sense, and it doesn't have too. The film is pretty funny with a mostly strong script. It never bores and it mostly entertains. The characters journeys are easy to follow throughout, and I found myself liking all the characters, including Buddy himself.
There are one or two issues I had with the script in the second and third act I wish they had done differently, but in general this was a well made twisted weird little gem of a horror story.
A bizarre few weeks in 2016 become a gripping documentary about creepy clowns, internet hysteria and idiots desperate for attention. Unsettling, surprisingly tragic and a refreshing alternative to your usual Halloween horror.
Normally I don't care for chick flicks, but I can't seem to stop watching this one over and over again. I was surprised that so many others didn't care for it. I just loved the sets, the costumes, the women and their relationships, the real magic in the film, the special effects, the child actresses. This was stuff that women could relate to better than men. Aidan Quinn was the only boring part of the movie. I wished they'd chosen an actor who was more into the role. He seemed bored and made his part in the film more boring. (Also, he mumbles. Someone should give him elocution lessons.)
This movie wasn't meant to be heavy. It was meant to be light, fun fluff, and that it is. The characters weren't meant to be deep, but I felt the relationship between the two sisters was deeper and well performed by two skilled actresses. In spite of the fluffiness of it, I enjoyed the two scenes in which we got to sit and relax to the sound of Stevie Nicks' "Crystal." So what if cars weren't crashing and guns weren't shooting. They weren't supposed to be. I felt the camaraderie of the moment as the two sisters and their aunts got drunk on "midnight margaritas" while dancing to Harry Nilsson's "Lime in the Coconut." It was just plain light fun. Also, women can enjoy the vicarious satisfaction of watching these women destroy the evil, bullying man who tries to destroy them.
The end of the film was rather Disney-kiddie-flick-like. Another ending might have worked better, but it was tolerable because it reminded the audience that the film was all in fun, and not to be taken seriously.
I usually prefer deeper films, but I thoroughly enjoyed this piece of fluff. Sure it was silly and campy, but it was fun. A film doesn't have to take itself seriously to be fun. Bullock, Kidman, Channing, and Wiest are beautiful, charming and wonderful to watch in this flick, and I love watching the four of them over and over again.
Models vs. Werewolves is bloody awful, but I kind of admire it. Terrible acting, a rubbish plot and some bizarre AI visuals, yet the technology allows a tiny production to deliver freaky werewolves and buckets of gore. A terrible film, but a fascinating experiment.
It is just a gang of Matchbox Kids who loved collecting the iconic toys and turning their hobby into a social gathering. But life always changes as you get older, even more-so when one of them turns out to be a spy and drags them all into a deadly espionage situation that takes them around the globe. At least the non-spies all have a talent that will come handy in these situations, and the writers do a fun job in setting it up nicely. The fighting scenes with Crena are always spot-on, and the over-the-top action is done to perfection (wouldn't expect anything less from a stunt person turn director). Yes, it is filled with cliches and silliness, but it's these ridiculous things that make this a great high explosive entertaining movie...
Stupid, ridiculous and not in a good way. Fall 2 delivers a parade of terrible decisions, irritating characters and the occasional moment of genuine vertigo. By the end, I wasn’t hoping they’d survive, I was hoping they’d slip so the film would finally be over.
