The Way to Wigan PierThis walk is along the towpath of the Lancashire section of the Leeds Liverpool canal, visits many canal side pubs. Passing the famous Wigan Pier, describing the impact, uses and construction of the canal. Originally built to carry coal, many industries grew up around the canal.
