This Flemish sitcom is about the intertwined private and professional life of René Verschoten, a dodgy independent garage-manager who stops at nothing to gain or save money. He considers his wife Magda, who dreams of socialite standing but is never at the height of her service-club friend Hélène, and son (hence the title) Sven -who leaves the series rather soon- essentially as financial drains, but also involves them in his dubious, usually back-firing schemes, as well as his staff: Kristof, a very zealous but dumb mechanic, his secretary, cleaning lady and general household help Conny and after Sven's departure in-living cousin and lazy mechanic Kevin.

He omits to tell he plans to stay for at least a year, but Connie feels that's unfair to girl friend Babs, so tells her he prefers 'enjoying his youth' another year, rather then get engaged, which she refused till then. René is unwilling to pay his ticket, even after he surprisingly manages a challenge to get five problem cars fixed, but Magda bought him a ticket. Everybody changes their mind in turns, also about which knave is the better worker, and Kevin arrives, making things irreversible. - Rotte appels
E10Rotte appelsWith competitor Cosyns closed for holiday, René commandeers even the females to help out as mechanics, utterly incompetent, causing excessive conflicts, which Conny ceases as an opportunity to field her latest lover, work place conflict therapist Aimé, who convinces René it should pay off in productivity, while he shoves the bill to her. It helps, but Conny wants him to return and ends up caught stirring trouble. Meanwhile Magda hopes to 'mediate' between Hélène and Jeanine, her rival in the service club, by hosting the press event herself, but only gets them to gang up against her. - Hartenvanger

René meanwhile hopes to increase staff productivity by organizing a team building, but instead of a cool trip stingily stages childish games indoors, resulting in everyone ganging up for a raise. - Virussen
E13VirussenHearing Hélène complain about her allergy, Magda reports to extreme hygienic measures, inspiring Kevin and René to surprise the service club appearing underpants-only. When René refuses to buy an air purifier, she changes tactics to staging extreme filth. René clumsily poses as (potential) clients to test his staff's welcoming friendliness, which backfires no less with them and actual potential clients.
