V Ratings & Reviews
- flavo43November 26, 2025V is one of those rare moments in television history where science fiction transcends entertainment and becomes something genuinely profound. There is good sci-fi—and then there is great sci-fi. V belongs firmly in the latter category. The premise is simple but brilliantly executed: extraterrestrials arrive on Earth appearing peaceful, offering cooperation and technological wonders. But beneath the surface lies a chilling agenda, revealed piece by piece with expert suspense. What elevates the miniseries is its bold use of allegory. By framing the alien takeover as a metaphor for real-world oppression—drawing clear parallels to World War II, including themes of persecution, propaganda, isolation, disappearances, and indoctrination—V tackled subject matter far heavier and more politically charged than almost anything on network TV at the time. It was brave, unsettling, and gripping. With strong performances and a narrative that never lets up, V remains one of the best and most culturally significant sci-fi miniseries ever broadcast.
