In the small quiet town of Lyubimovo, strange murders of young women occur one after another, forcing the investigator for especially important cases, Kira Karelina, to suspect the actions of a maniac. But a Moscow psychotherapist who knows the method of regressive hypnosis, Konstantin Kholmogorov, who came to his small homeland and by chance found himself drawn into the investigation, puts forward his version of what is happening.
