Father Joseph and Cardinal Richelieu has recruited 40,000 new soldiers for France, seemingly out of nowhere. Near Magdeburg, Anna von Haugwitz meets Swedish commander Carl Gustaf Wrangel; from then on, she follows him from camp to camp.
