When his father-in-law Nicolau suffers an accident, he asks Maria João to help him manage the company. Major Beevor, an English spy, meets with the National Football Coach Cândido de Oliveira to organize the Resistance activity in Portugal. At the same time that Rose is enticed by the British, Maria João is going to Porto because of an assault on the Mascarenhas branch. There, her best friend Rose introduces Maria João to Siegfried Brenner. - Episode 2E2
Episode 2December of 1941. Life in Lisbon changed with the War. A mysterious accident in a wolfram mine brings to the capital the engineer Siegfried Brenner. Larenz, a III Reich spy, keeps a close eye in the engineer. At the same time, he controls every step of Rose Lawson, the best friend of Maria João. In the PVDE dungeons, suspected of subversive activities, the casapiano Roberto Moisés - father and devout spouse -, is interrogated and tortured by officer Paulo.
