The second season of The Sing-Off premiered on December 6, 2010. The number of a cappella groups was increased from 8 to 10, with all acts coming from the United States. Nick Lachey was kept as host for the new season, and the three judges Ben Folds, Shawn Stockman and Nicole Scherzinger also returned. The program aired for 5 nights in December, and its finale was on December 20, 2010. The season premiere averaged 8.5 million viewers. On the finale, the group Committed became the second champion of the show, beating out Street Corner Symphony, The Backbeats, and Jerry Lawson & Talk of the Town.

Episode 3After uniting for an amped-up performance of Green Day's "21 Guns," the six remaining groups are put to the test when they are asked to sing rock tunes. They later shift their energy as they perform their favorite guilty pleasure songs. However, the pleasure doesn't last for one of the groups, who will be eliminated before the night is over. Episode 4Now down to only five groups, "The Sing-Off" kicks off the night as the groups come together one last time to perform "With a Little Help From My Friends." Each group is then challenged to sing a medley of songs by a single artist. Later, the judges are tasked with deciding what the groups will sing next, choosing pieces from a variety of different genres. Nick Lachey hosts. Ben Folds, Shawn Stockman and Nicole Scherzinger serve as judges.
