Due to Skinner's penny-pinching Mrs. Krabappel calls the teachers on strike. As a consequence the parents become substitute teachers but Bart feels so embarrassed by Marge teaching him that he eventually tricks Seymour and Edna into negotiation by locking them into a room together. The problem is solved by renting room space to the local prison.
