It's close to midsummer and even though Nissen Rumle has gone to summer hibernation, 13-year-old Karen is busy, She bakes cakes to her heart's content in her small shop. The big topic of conversation in the town is the engagement between Karen's older brother, the poor stable boy Rasmus, and the manor's daughter Marie Louise. Shortly after, another stranger appears in town. A mysterious man named Cornelius. He says he is looking for a troll and has a magical troll heart to help him.
