This British drama aired from 2003 to 2011, a total of 86 episodes about a dedicated staff of doctors and nurses caring for patients at the fictional St. Aidan's Royal Free Hospital in the seaside town of Elsinby in this spinoff of the popular British show "Heartbeat." Set in the 1960s, the series focuses on the medical issues faced by patients and the moral dilemmas those emergencies bring.

Equally annoying is wealthy hypochondriac Mrs. Lyons, who demands her dog be treated after being bitten by a snake. David Cheriton gets involved with Jeffrey Carpenter, a depressed boy who has attempted suicide but things do not work out as he had hoped. Meanwhile, PC Ventress comes to the Royal with two men who had been fighting over a girl, and one promptly collapses due to a brain haemorrhage. Weatherill faces a testing time when she helps deliver a baby which is tragically stillborn and nurse Meryl reveals she suspects she may be pregnant. - The Last Waltz
E6The Last WaltzAs preparations get under way for the Royal's charity ball, Ken Hopkirk is forced to rescue the band hired for the evening when their van breaks down en route. Meanwhile, Dr. Weatherill faces a traumatic time as one of her patients discovers she has contracted syphilis and Dr. Ormerod resolves to move on when it emerges that his wife will not recover from her coma.
