Petey the dog and his girlfriend Dolly were supposed to join their human owners, who were moving overseas by ship. Their close friends Duke, Dash and Lucky stowed away on the same ship. All five dogs were knocked overboard by a lightning bolt. The five dogs travel the world in search of their lost family, helping out various humans and animals along their way.
