Where to Watch The Promise of the Soul
- Jim FoxJanuary 31, 2026This one is just... weird. I like the other series from this Taiwanese studio and typically enjoy the actors they choose. I also like how they often cross storylines of their series by bringing characters from previous series into the current one, and this one is no exception, with the characters from "Fight for You" making an appearance (and the cute one actually has a recurring role as the dorm RA, not just a cameo as in other series). But the fish-out-of-water story of a 70-year-old thrust into Gen Z culture didn't really work for me, and I struggled to relate to the main characters. It is worth a watch, however, but temper your expectations going in.
