Season 5
The Panel was a weekly topical comedy-style chat show produced by Happy Endings Productions for RTÉ. It is based on the Australian programme The Panel, produced by Working Dog Productions for Network Ten. The 2010–2011 season began on 7 October 2010, with a new permanent presenter, Craig Doyle, and ran each Thursday at 22:15 on RTÉ One until 26 January 2011. The theme song is "Waterfall" by The Stone Roses.

Dara got an interesting txt from his carpenter, Pat Kenny's kidnapping is discussed along with Maddonna's adoptive son. Programme 4Journalist Stephen Grey and Today FM's Tom Dunne are the guests this evening. Drink-driving is discussed, along with speeding. Programme 7With two of the panelists en route from Shannon airport, a reserve in the shape of Neil Delamere was drafted in to join weatherproof regulars; Mairead Farrell and Colin Murphy. Oh and wine connoisseur Jilly Goolden drops by for a chat. In the second half a new Panel mug joins the gang. Actor Aidan Dooley pays tribute to Tom Crean and the panellists try to solve petty crime, such as the vandalised Christmas tree in Limerick. - Programme 8E8

Martin King, the annoyingly chirpy TV3 weatherman, talks about his father's job impeding his own career prospects in a pirate radio station. He's mocked by all the panelists for the short duration of his appearance. Simon Delaney, who played Michael on Bachelor's Walk among other things, inspires Maxwell to define the true Christmas miracle......... The panellists discussed the French public's wishes not to welcome in the new year and stop time instead. Also the introduction of ASBO's was ridiculed along with crime in general and the invention of vacuuming shoes - "shoovers". Colin informed us about "lepraporn" - Irish made porn. Manchán Magan told of the abuse he got whilst travelling around Ireland speaking only Irish. Bernard Dunne explained why he had to go by "Ben" in the US because of American pronunciation. Programme 12Tonight the panelists talked about Fine Gael's innovative campaign techniques, David Beckham's move to LA, America's adopt-a-nun scheme and pandas among other things. The guests were Ruth Bradley, Irish actress, star of Legend and Dr Ian Robertson attempts to explain the difference between the mind and the brain.
