Mr Lilioulala's body is found in the river, but the bag with his drugs is recovered by Mamselle. Joan arrives on the island with her son Ned, who finds a kindred spirit with his grandfather John. Joan becomes involved with Baptiste's political campaigning, only to find themselves under scrutiny from Father Toussaint and the local authorities. Meanwhile Stella tells Joan she has to leave after kissing Andrew, realizing she may of made the situation far worse with her actions.
