In Chicago, the English Professor Frank Ingram is happily married with his wife (and former student) that is pregnant. When the student Samantha 'Sam' Perry has a crush on him, he rejects but is harassed by Sam that inclusive calls him during the night. He feels that his family is threatened and call the police that cannot do anything. But when Sam dies, he continues to receive phone calls from her.
