Richard Kimble is thrown in a local jail after minor traffic accident and his fingerprints are put out over the wire. Before Lt. Gerard arrives, Kimble breaks out of the jail with a friendly overweight young man. Kimble later finds out his new found friend may have been framed for a horrific crime he did not commit, years ago.
