The body of a young girl washes up on the shore. Soon it is possible to establish her identity: Tamara Ermolaeva, worked as a servant in the Duzhnikovs family. Quite quickly, a suspect appears who was released on parole - Ivan Kuprin. But upon arrest, he commits suicide. Kushnir's colleagues and superiors are inclined to regard this step as Kuprin's admission of guilt, and are preparing to close the case. But Aleksandra is not used to drawing conclusions so quickly.
