The city is rocked by a series of daring robberies. An unknown person stalks women outside nightclubs and, after stunning them with a baseball bat, takes money and valuables. Another attack turns into tragedy. A successful female photographer, Irena Krestovskaya, turns out to be murdered. The mayor of the city himself takes control of the matter. Not trusting Kushnir's professional abilities, he demands her removal and the transfer of the investigation to department employee Yurkov, who has his own scores to settle with Aleksandra.
