The MUR’s investigation team, led by Major Konstantin Khromov, is leaving Moscow for Ozersk to investigate a series of mysterious murders. In the city of Ozersk, a maniac performs mysterious rituals with the bodies of his victims, surrounding corpses with candles and objects from the local museum of local lore. Young investigators Olga Barysheva and Igor Lyamin, subordinates of Khromov, find out that archaeological values found at the crime scene were discovered during excavations of the Scythian mound more than 30 years ago.
