Dr. Benjamin Craig was an extremely successful neurosurgeon who had become so well-known and well-renowned in his field that he was able to open his own exclusive clinic, The David Craig Institute of New Medicine, where he and his two bold young charges, Paul Hunter and Chief of Surgery Ted Stuart, worked on experimental, sometimes non-surgical advances in medical science. Dr. Stuart was later replaced by Dr. Cohen.

Moment of CrisisAn argument Dr. Hunter has with his girlfriend Amanda has her first getting drunk, than causing a school bus accident. Dr. Craig is dealing with a board member who is determined to replace him with a prejudiced surgeon. That becomes secondary as the crash victims arrive, including his granddaughter who is severely injured.
