‘Crime Suspects’ is the British model for the scripted reality series, the German version of which is set in Frankfurt am Main with its skyscraper skyline. The three-person team of chief detective Elke Welp (Nina Kronjäger, ‘Kommissarin Heller’) and detectives Alexander Mirkovic (Aleksandar Radenkovic) and Sonja Lemke (Natalja Joselewitsch) investigate in brothels and the drug swamps of the railway station district as well as in the rich suburbs, where the money of the banking metropolis is invested in posh properties. The actors improvise their dialogues based on extensive character descriptions of their characters. In addition, Michael Brennicke, known as the off-screen narrator of ‘Aktenzeichen XY ...ungelöst’, comments on the action.
