On the day of her birthday, the girl Susie awakes with a teddy bear at her side on the bed, but her father Richard does not have any recollection of giving the toy to his daughter. Soon, Susie's mother Joan notes that Susie blames the teddy bear for any damage or mischief at home, irritating her. She becomes nervous with the lies that Susie is telling, but soon she learns that they are not lies.
