⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐½ – Sweetpea – Politeness, Pressure, and the Perfectly Executed Snap At first glance, Sweetpea looks like a quiet character study — a gentle soul trapped in a dull job and a judgemental town. But beneath the pastel surface lies a storm waiting to burst. The series is a slow unravelling of civility, an exercise in how far someone can be pushed before manners give way to murder. Rhiannon “Sweetpea” Lewis lives a life of quiet suffocation. Overlooked at work, dismissed by her family, and quietly ridiculed by society, she starts internalising every slight until her thoughts turn sharply, darkly inward. What follows isn’t just revenge — it’s catharsis wrapped in sarcasm and blood. What makes Sweetpea stand out is how disarmingly normal it feels. You can almost smell the burnt coffee in the office breakroom, hear the dismissive “love” in a coworker’s tone, and feel that British tension between keeping calm and committing chaos. It’s the kind of show that reminds you repression isn’t peace — it’s just pressure with a smile. Sweetpea is as witty as it is unsettling; an off-kilter morality tale for anyone who’s ever been underestimated one too many times. It’s charmingly dark, unapologetically British, and dangerously relatable — a cup of tea with a razor in the saucer. 🍸 Pairing: A strong gin and tonic with a slice of lemon — crisp, clean, and quietly lethal.
