Matthew's aggressive outbursts leave Laura battered and bruised; he even gives her a bloody lip when he punches her in the mouth! As the stepfather, Stuart is desperate to discipline the karate kid, but Laura won't allow it; instead, the family is split down the middle with Stuart taking responsibility for his daughter and Mom fighting to control Matthew.
