Granville sets off in a hired van for Scarborough, where Mavis is on holiday with Madge, leaving Leroy in charge of the shop, where he is inevitably taken advantage of by the regulars. Granville is also unfortunate in his attempts to get Mavis alone, due to the van's faulty alarm and the arrival of other, unexpected visitors.
